Theresa (Terri)'s Story

Life Updated April 1, 2015. I continue to write about my life for anthologies, with stories in over a hundred books. In August 2014 I finished my second four-year appointment to the Washington State Medical Commission. My late husband's two enormous dogs died last year, as well, freeing me to sell the enormous country house, and move back to Southern California, where I now live in an independent senior living complex in Westminster, CA. I just returned from a trip to Italy, and will be attending a writers conference in North Carolina in May...so still traveling! Previously: After I retired from Peace Corps in Washington DC in 2004, my second husband, Ken Wilson, and I moved from Silver Spring, MD, to a three and a half acre farm outside of Colville, WA, in the far northeast part of the state. We attended both Ken's 50th reunion in Modesto in 2003 and my 50th reunions for Lynwood High School and Manual Arts in 2004. In my Peace Corp...Expand for more
s years I had visited or lived in 50 countries, but never got to Canada until we retired here. Ken died in June, 2009, and his three sons visited in August to plant a tree in his memory. I write for anthologies, such as Chicken Soup for the Soul and Cup of Comfort, and serve as a public member of the state medical board. I have two large dogs, three cats, and lots of flower gardens that keep me busy from May to September. Last August I attended Cambridge University International Summer School, studying Victoriana. Though I've been all over England, and UK in general, I had never been to Cambridge, so was thrilled to have a chance to study there for a couple of weeks. I'm returning this summer to take a course in Napoleon and His Enemies, plus one on Henry VIII. I'd love to hear from any of my old friends from Carpenterettes, Scians or Pavlovettes. I can be befriended on Facebook (Terri Elders) and I have a blog, A Touch of Tarragon.
